Beacons in the Maldives
Fixed beacons marking reef edges and channel sides.
A beacon is a fixed mark, a pole or small tower standing on the reef, that shows where the reef edge or the side of a channel is. Most stand at harbour entrances and on breakwaters. For reference, not for navigation.
